A patriot ballistic missile exits a launcher during an exercise held at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Oct. 1, 2014. The exercise is a U.S. Army Central-led, bilateral combined patriot live fire exercise with host nation, and U.S. Air Force Central Command. It was held to exercise joint and combined air and missile defense operations. The event is intended to increase proficiency, expand levels of military-to-military cooperation, and promote long term regional stability and interoperability. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
