The action ramps up in Australia as the New Zealand forces spread across the bush in Central Queensland as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015. The National Support Element, with the help of Royal New Zealand Air Force's NH90 helicopters, has been working behind the scenes to ensure supplies are delivered to Kiwi troops out in the bush.
Talisman Sabre marks the first time the NH90s have been deployed offshore and is a great opportunity to show their capability and effectiveness in a challenging coalition environment.
Talisman Sabre is the Australian Defence Force's largest warfighting exercise. It involves almost 30,000 troops from the ADF, the US military, the NZDF and Japan's Self-Defense Force. The NZDF has deployed two ships, four aircraft including two NH90 helicopters, 22 Light Armoured Vehicles, 23 other military vehicles and around 620 personnel for the exercise.
