The US Air Force has contracted CAE to provide four additional full-flight simulators for its Lockheed Martin C-130Js, bringing the number of systems on order or delivered by the company for the latest iteration of the four-engined turboprop to 10.

The new contract, for C-130J "weapons systems trainers", calls for a combined three additional HC/MC-130J simulators to be delivered to the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and Air Combat Command (ACC), and one C-130J simulator for the Air Mobility Command (AMC).

CAE's new business boosts its total sales so far to six mission simulators for the AMC, four of which are already in use at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, along with one at Keesler AFB, Mississippi, and four for AFSOC/ACC.

The latter devices will enter use at Hurlburt Field, Florida and Kirtland AFB, New Mexico for the AFSOC, and at Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona for the ACC.

The contract is contained within a new package of business deals valued at $100 million, which also includes support services for German aviation programmes.

Working through a prime contractor, CAE will provide maintenance, support services and scenario generation for German air force Eurofighter simulators, as well as upgrades to the service's Panavia Tornado simulators.
