At the routine press conference held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China on October 13, a reporter requested comments from China regarding the news that an official of India's Department of National Defense recently claimed that Chinese army was spotted in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir while Pakistan denied it.
Liu Weimin, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China responded that China had reiterated its position in the Kashmir issue for many times. The issue of Kashmir is an issue unsolved in the history between India and Pakistan. As a neighboring country in friendly relations with both India and Pakistan, China has always proposed that the issue of Kashmir be settled promptly and properly by the two countries through dialogues and negotiations.
Liu said that the claim of the Chinese military conducting construction in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir was utterly groundless and very absurd.
