Various types of aircraft to participate in drill; IAF chief recently talked about importance of aerial superiority
On Wednesday (February 8), the Israel Air Force (IAF) will hold a large-scale training exercise in the skies above northern Israel.
Various types of aircraft will take part in the exercise, which was scheduled as part of the IAF's periodic training program.
The most recent significant exercise took place in December when the IAF held a joint training drill in Israel with the Italian Air Force. Italian Eurofighter and Tornado aircraft, as well as Israeli F-16 and F-15 aircraft, took part in that drill.
Last month, IAF Commander Major General Ido Nechushtan said that Israel must strive to preserve its aerial superiority in the Middle East, due to the development of other aerial forces in the region.
