The annual Waddington air show took place at the Royal Air Force's main intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft base in Lincolnshire on 2-3 July, attracting around 65,000 visitors.

AirSpace users Duncan Monk, M_Needham and Sunshine Band were among those to capture the action involving attractions such as the Vulcan to the Sky Trust's Avro Vulcan XH558, the US Air Force's Lockheed Martin F-16-equipped Thunderbirds aerobatic display team and the British Aerospace Hawk T1s of the RAF's Red Arrows.

Among the other aircraft taking to the skies were rareties including Boeing B-17 bomber "Sally B" and a Rockwell OV-10B Bronco. The latter is due to also be on show at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire from 16-17 July.

Also on static display at Waddington was the RAF's recently-retired British Aerospace Nimrod R1 electronic intelligence aircraft, two of which were flown operationally for the last time in late June, after recently participating in NATO-led campaigns in Afghanistan and Libya.
