A second, smaller unmanned aircraft has been sent to probe the region in which a series of explosions took place at an ammunition depot in Southeastern Bulgaria.

The first unmanned aircraft crashed due to strong winds earlier on Wednesday. Armored vehicles are still searching for its camera.

“Our aim is not to be searching for the aircraft all day long, but to discover its camera,” Deputy Defense Minister Valentin Radev has told reporters.

Radev has added that the search for the three missing employees of the private company that manages the ammunition depot continues.

Lieutenant General Lyutskan Lyutskanov, former commander of the Bulgarian Land Forces, has told TV7 that the three men’s chances for survival are very slim.

The blasts at the ammo site near the Petolachkata road junction close to Slivenoccurred at 2:40 pm on Tuesday, injuring at least 9 people, two of them critically.
