(Issued in French; unofficial translation by defense-aerospace.com)
This past week, the Commander of the Swiss Air Force, Markus Gygax, traveled to Linköping, in Sweden, the headquarters of Saab, the maker of the Gripen, to obtain the latest information regarding the status of development of the JAS 39 Gripen.
He took the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of the Gripen E/F demonstrator, and was briefed by Saab’s chief pilot on the program. Development of the Swedish Gripen is proceeding as planned since the test flights carried out by pilots of the Swiss air force and the armasuisse procurement agency.
