Patriot missile

 

ANKARA, 19 novembre - RIA Novosti

 

La Turquie demandera officiellement lundi à l'Otan, dont elle est l'un des 28 membres, de pouvoir déployer des missiles sol-air Patriot le long de sa frontière avec la Syrie, annonce la chaîne de télévision CNN-Turk, se référant à des sources diplomatiques du pays.

 

"La décision de demander à l'Otan des systèmes de défense anti-aérienne Patriot a été adoptée. La Turquie en recevra, mais on ignore pour le moment si ces missiles seront mis à la disposition d'Ankara par l'Allemagne ou les Pays-Bas", rapporte la CNN-Turk.

 

L'Allemagne et les Pays-Bas sont les deux principaux pays européens à posséder ces missiles DCA à moyenne portée.

 

En attendant, la diplomatie turque n'a pas confirmé l'information sur une telle requête d'Ankara auprès de l'Otan.

 

Le renforcement des défenses antiaériennes de la Turquie est discuté depuis plusieurs mois entre les autorités turques et leurs alliés de l'Otan, Etats-Unis en tête. Cette perspective est devenue plus probable lorsque des tirs d'obus syriens ont touché des localités proches de la frontière, dont l'un a tué cinq villageois turcs.
