UAV Vision has announced the successful completion of a six month sea trial of their CM160-V2 MS Gimbal system. Deployed with the newly developed Full HD Broadcast camera, the system completed daily active operations without a single failure during the prolonged offshore trial programme in Australia.
According to UAV, the Broadcast CM160 houses the latest in HD sensors. It consists of a feature rich HD recorder, with the system delivering 1080/60i/50i or 1080/24p/25p (Native) @ >21Mbps onto SD Cards. This also provides the user Time code and Zebra lines along with many other professional video features. The 3CCD sensor within the gimbal is equipped with a 12x optical zoom lens and has 3 x 2.51 Megapixel MOS sensors, one for each primary colour, far superior to the 1CMOS sensors out there.
The company believes that the Gimbal is suitable for a range of applications, on almost any platform. It is currently deployed on many platforms, including UAVs (rotary and fixed wing), manned aircraft (fixed wing, gyrocopters/gyroplanes, helicopters), and marine surface vessels. Current testing is also being undertaken on ground vehicle platforms.
