Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) received a $262.8 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for sustainment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s F-15 sensor suite. The sensor suite includes Sniper ® Advanced Targeting Pods (ATP), LANTIRN Extended Range (ER) navigation pods and Infrared Search and Track (IRST) systems. Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will collaborate with Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) to perform Sniper ATP and LANTIRN ER sustainment services as well as LANTIRN ER pod upgrades at the Sniper Expanded Repair Capability facility in Saudi Arabia. Lockheed Martin will support IRST sustainment at its IRST depot in Orlando, Florida.

Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod (ATP) is the most widely deployed targeting system for fixed-wing aircraft in use by U.S. forces and is also the targeting system of choice for many international allies across multiple platforms. Sniper ATP provides pilots high-resolution imagery for precision targeting and non-traditional intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. It detects, identifies, automatically tracks and laser-designates small tactical targets at long ranges and supports employment of laser- and GPS-guided weapons against multiple fixed and moving targets. Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] and Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) will establish a Sniper ® Advanced Targeting Pod (ATP) Expanded Repair Capability facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – the first Sniper support facility established outside the United States.
Designed to support the Royal Saudi Air Force’s (RSAF) Sniper ATPs, the Expanded Repair Capability facility will provide both affordability benefits and expedited repair times for the RSAF. Lockheed Martin employees will train AEC technicians to perform maintenance on Sniper ATP line replaceable units, and future AEC support will include managing logistics and completing product upgrades for both Sniper ATP and LANTIRN™ pods.
