Chinese and Slovenian military leaders on Monday agreed to promote pragmatic cooperation between the two armies.
During his meeting with Slovenian Defense Minister Ljubica Jelusic, Xu Caihou, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, said China-Slovenia relations have enjoyed stable growth since the establishment of bilateral relations and have featured an even wider scope of development prospects.
He said Jelusic' s trip to China marks the first visit in history by a Slovenian defense minister.
Xu said China is willing to increase personnel exchanges, further strengthen pragmatic cooperation and develop the two countries' military relations.
He pointed out that pursuing a peaceful development path is among the greatest experiences in the rapid growth of China's economy and society.
According to Xu, China pursues a defense policy that is defensive in nature and makes efforts to develop itself while promoting world peace.
Jelusic expressed her willingness to promote pragmatic cooperation with China and exchange views with China on the world security situation and current international relations.
