The next event of the Montreal-Ottawa chapter of the AHS will take place at École Technologie Supérieureon Tuesday the 22nd of January at 6:15pm (Registration from 5.30pm).  The Chapter is pleased to announce that Claude Roy of Eurocopter will make a presentation on the subject of “The development of the Eurocopter X3”.  Details are included in the attachment.  Please reply ASAP as spaces are limited.  Register with James Corrigan at jamescorrigan@bh.com .  Please note that this presentation will be given in French.

Claude Roy is Director of Training at Eurocopter Canada Ltd in Fort Erie Ontario and is a licensed commercial helicopter pilot. Claude’s career in the aviation business has spanned over 30 years, and has covered a wide range of skills, companies and helicopter operating environments in both North America and Europe. After commencing his apprenticeship as an aircraft mechanic, Claude progressed to get his aircraft technician’s license in 1984 and worked on helicopter operations on the James Bay project and, in France, gained experience in the use of helicopters in forest fire-fighting operations. Claude began his involvement with helicopter training aspects while working with “Ecole Nationale D’Aerotechnique” in St-Hubert to develop helicopter approved maintenance courses on various helicopters types. He became a Transport Canada approved trainer in 1991. During his subsequent career Claude has worked for major helicopter manufacturers (Eurocopter and Bell Helicopter) in the areas of product support and marketing, and he has also worked in the operational environment for Canadian Helicopters Ltd. as both a licensed engineer and pilot. In his latest position as Training Director at Eurocopter Canada he has insight into the innovative X3 program, which has recently completed its 2012 North American publicity tour.
