Huntington Ingalls Industries Wins U.S. Navy HM&E Machinery and Systems Contract

VIRGINIA BEACH | Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. announced that its AMSEC LLC subsidiary has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy in support of hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) machinery and systems on Navy, federal agency and contracted vessels and platforms, selected maritime agency vessels, and select land-based sites.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee multiple-award contract contains a base period with four one-year option periods which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to approximately $92 million.

"This contract enables AMSEC's continued support of Navy sailors, ships and systems as they respond to worldwide challenges," said Harris Leonard, HII vice president and president of AMSEC operations. "We look forward to continuing our support of the Navy by providing our sailors with advanced technologies and support at a lower cost and increased efficiencies."

The work will be performed primarily in Norfolk, San Diego and Mayport, Fla. If all options are awarded, the work is expected to be completed by September 2016. The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Carderock Division, Ship Systems Engineering Station, Philadelphia Detachment is the contracting activity.
