PHOENIX II demonstration and evaluation trials by DGA and the French Army

The French Ministry of Defence procurement agency DGA (Direction Générale de l’Armement) and the French Army (Armée de Terre) will held next week at Mourmelon military camp, 200 km East of Paris, PHOENIX II demonstration and evaluation trials.

PHOENIX II is to contribute to the French Army SCORPION (Synergie du COntact Renforcé par la Polyvalence et l’InfovalorisatiON) modernization programme which is intended to transform the French Army in a digitized and networked capable force.

MARS (Maitrise de l’ARchitecture SCORPION) team which include Sagem SA, Thales and Nexter Systems, has been awarded a contract in late 2010 to implement the architecture phase of SCORPION project.

Companies like Sagem SA, CASSIDIAN Systems, Nexter Systems, Thales, MBDA, ECA, Novadem and Aerophile SA are part of the demonstration trials with several equipments, solutions and technologies.

Several French developed technologies are attracting the Brazilian Army (Exército Brasileiro-EB) including the FELIN (Fantassin à Équipements et Liaisons INtégrés) soldier modernization system procured by the DGA to Sagem SA to equip the French Army. Representatives from the EB visited in 2010 Sagem SA factory in Poitiers where mostly all FELIN components are received from the sub-contractors prior the expedition to the French Army facilities.

Defesa Global will be next week in France to attend PHOENIX II trials.
