Defence and security company Saab will participate as the general partner at the NATO Days 2012 air show on September 22 and 23 at Mosnov Airport in Ostrava, the Czech Republic. A Gripen air-to-air refuelling training show is one of the main attractions during the air show that can be seen on Saturday 22nd.

Saab will be present at NATO Days 2012 in Ostrava with a stand located in the VIP sector of the Mosnov Airport.

“NATO Days is one of the most important air shows in Central and Eastern Europe and we are proud to be the leading partner of this event. This year will be really special as we will witness the simulation of air-to-air refuelling of Gripen fighters,” said Daniel Boestad, Saab Vice-President for Central and Eastern Europe.

The Saab manufactured, fully NATO interoperable, Gripen supersonic fighter aircraft is in service with the Czech Air Force. In February 2011, Saab signed an agreement to acquire the Slavkov-based company E-COM, which develops and produces virtual simulators. E-COM has delivered many different simulators to the Czech army and has achieved export success to customers worldwide.

“During NATO days we will present diplomas to the Czech Army’s best operators of the Saab RBS 70 air defence missile system and Saab representatives will be on hand to talk about our Czech activities, our global business and our wide portfolio of products and services,“ added Daniel Boestad.

Gripen air-to-air refuelling training show is scheduled for 11:30 AM on September 22nd. Among the main attractions of Saab's participation this year will be the 2012 Diploma for Top RBS 70 operators presented to Staff Sergeant Vacláv Bergman and Staff Sergeant Jirí Toman by Col. Vladimir Barca, Commanding Officer of the 25th Air Defence Brigade, Czech Armed Forces, and by Mats Fagerberg of Saab. This will take place at 12.10 AM on Saturday. Visitors will also be able to test the Small Arms Virtual Trainer in the Saab stand.

Saab has a significant presence in the Czech Republic, with around 140 employees located in Prague and Slavkov.
