The Company will showcase the UGF (Unattended Gap Filler) which includes a Mini Unattended Ground Imager - integrated with Radar

Yokne'am, Israel | Seraphim Optronics, a leader in electro-optic surveillance and security equipment, will present two new solutions at AUSA 2012, Israel Pavilion, Hall B, Booth 1763. The company will showcase the UGF (Ultimate Gap Filler), which includes the MUGI - Mini Unattended Ground Imager integrated with Radar for Border Protection application. Also on display will be the next generation Chameleon 2 - Urban Persistent Covert Surveillance System, with enhanced capabilities in communications and day-and-night camera.

INTEGRATING MUGI WITH RADAR – FILLING IN THE GAPS IN BORDER PROTECTION

PRESENTING THE UGF - UNATTENDED GAP FILLER

The new system will be displayed for the first time at AUSA 2012, Israel Pavilion. The UGF, which contains the MUGI (Mini Unattended Ground Imager) integrated with a state-of-the-art tactical radar, provides the ultimate solution for a known problem - geographical coverage gaps in border protection. The radar continuously scans a sector of 90?, delivering persistent surveillance, with an automatic detection range of up to 2 km. The system can be triggered by the radar, Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS-acoustic, seismic, etc.), or integral VMD (in the MUGI) and cue the MUGI's Day & Night (IR) cameras to the suspicious event's location. The system also serves as a data HUB for other UGS, with the ability to continuously relay the video and event data to HQ. The Day & Night (VGA uncooled thermal) cameras play a critical role in determining whether an unauthorized activity is taking place, thus preventing false alarms.

MUGI - Mini Unattended Ground Imager - is a fully operational system that provides ground forces with real-time, persistent covert surveillance. Specially designed to be camouflaged for quick deployment in special operations, the system gathers information 24/7 from a hidden spot. Using its IR Imager or CCD camera, MUGI sends live video streams to the C4I center, significantly enhancing situational awareness.

The system, which enables long mission duration, provides an Automatic Mode for Video Motion Detection (VMD) and a Remote Detection Mode, which is externally triggered by the UGS. A single station controls multiple sensors and can be connected to other UGS - creating a network of hidden sensors. MUGI's motionless, noiseless and reflectionless characteristics contribute to its sophisticated camouflage.

NEXT GENERATION CHAMELEON 2 FOR URBAN OPERATIONS

The Chameleon 2 is an unattended persistent urban reconnaissance covert surveillance system blending in perfectly in a variety of urban environments. It gathers real-time visual Intelligence by remotely monitoring hostile target movements and supplying early warnings to troops. The Chameleon 2 is capable of identifying and responding to human targets at 120m, and sending full motion video for immediate reaction or for future action. As with MUGI, a single observer can simultaneously control multiple systems and integrate it with external sensors, and C4I systems. Additionally, the Chameleon 2 can operate automatically - detecting suspicious movements and alerting the user through its internal Video Motion Detection (VMD). Extremely small, lightweight and energy efficient, the system has full communications flexibility, including WiFi, cellular, wired and satellite.

According to Israel Kasher, Lt. Col (Ret.), President and CEO of Seraphim Optronics, "As a company with extensive experience and expertise in covert surveillance solutions, we work on an ongoing basis with our military, police, and special forces customers, around the globe, to continually provide the solutions that meet their specific needs. At this year's AUSA, we are pleased to present two new solutions that are the result of specific conclusions and requests that we received from our customers, and we expect them to become operational in the near future."
