Testing of Su-25UBM strike-fighter will be completed this summer

According to VPK, Sukhoi design bureau plans to sign the act of modernized Su-25UBM’s (trainer with attack capabilities) state testing completion in summer. CEO of Sukhoi’s strike-fighters concern, Vladimir Babak, has declared this fact. According to him, the state testing program has been completed in full, including the tactical employment testing. «Su-25UBM strike-fighter may be successfully used as a trainer for air force’s pilots and it also has an attack capabilities, – said Babak. – Su-25UBM is almost equal to combat strike-fighter Su-25SM by its flight performance and combat qualities». Su-25UBM is the modernized version of Su-25UB trainer. The jet’s maximum takeoff weight is 18 500 kg, maximum flight speed with one ton of bomb-load is – 940 km/h. Maximum flying height is 7000 meters, maximum bomb-load – 4000 kg, ferry range with outboard tanks – 2000 km. The modernized Su-25UBM strike-fighter is equipped with new aircraft furnishings similar to the one-seated Su-25SM’s equipment. The cockpit of the modernized strike-fighter is equipped with two LCDs.
