U.K. company tapped for Danish project

CAMBRIDGE, England, Sept. 12 (UPI)

An air traffic management project of the Danish air force will feature radar acquisition and network distribution solutions from Britain's Cambridge Pixel.

Cambridge Pixel, which produces sensor processing and display solutions, said it is supplying the equipment and systems under a contract from Denmark's DSE Airport Solutions.

Under the contract, Cambridge Pixel will supply its HPx-200 PCI-based primary radar acquisition cards, which will receive standard and moving target video channels from the radar. Cambridge's SPx Server will compress and distribute the information to application software for display.

DSE is proving an upgraded, integrated air traffic management solution for radar control and flight plan management at three airports used by the Danish air force.

"We chose Cambridge Pixel's products because they demonstrated an understanding of our radar interfacing needs and were able to offer the precise modules of software that we needed for client-server distribution," said Kim Foged, head of ATM Systems at DSE Airport Solutions. "The product performed exactly as expected and provided us with a cost-effective solution."
