Leidos Inc., Reston, Virginia, was awarded a $661,840,250 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the design, architecture engineering, configuration management, system integration, aircraft integration, testing, technical and logistics support of the Airborne Reconnaissance Low-Enhanced (ARL-E) system.

Bids were solicited via the Internet with three received with an estimated completion date of Nov. 3, 2020. Funding and work location will be determined with each order.

Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen, Maryland, is the contracting activity (W56KGY-16-D-0001).

The multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of $6 billion for all awardees, if all options are exercised. Leidos is one of 25 large businesses eligible to compete for task orders under the contract. Work will be performed in Springfield, Va. and at DIA locations worldwide.

The DIA provides military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community in support of U.S. military planning, operations and weapon systems acquisition.  Under the contract, Leidos will provide worldwide coverage for IT requirements and technical services supporting the government through system design, development, fielding and sustainment of global intelligence and command and control (C2) assets vital to the security of the United States. Leidos will focus on improving integration, information sharing, gaining efficiencies and information safeguarding through a common IT approach.

DCNS has been selected – as part of a multinational industrial team led by the US Company Leidos – to participate in the system engineering and the integration of the NATO Ballistic Missile Defence.

DCNS will provide its leading-edge expertise as a naval systems prime contractor to contribute both to the definition and specification and to the integration and test of the NATO Ballistic Missile Defence architectures. The single-award firm-fixed-price contract has a four-year base period of performance, two one-year options plus one eight-month option, and a total contract value of $77 million if all options are exercised.

NATO’s goal is to integrate existing and future national weapon systems, sensors, command and control systems with the NATO Battle Management Command Control Communications and Intelligence system to provide an active defence for the protection of the alliance territory and populations, as well as deployed military forces and critical assets, against a large spectrum of ballistic missiles threats.

The multinational team will assist in this effort by defining, specifying and testing and verifying the proposed NATO Ballistic Missile Defence architectures and requirements using an integration test bed that will be upgraded and operated under the contract.

Company to Provide Research and Development Services for the Behavioral Sciences and Epidemiology Department

Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health and engineering solutions company, was awarded a prime contract, Behavioral Epidemiology Assessment Research (BEAR), by the Naval Medical Logistics Command to provide research services for multiple behavioral health and epidemiology projects that support the Naval Health Research Center's (NHRC) Behavioral Sciences and Epidemiology Department. The single-award cost-plus fixed-fee (CPFF) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of approximately $7.3 million, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in San Diego, Calif.

The NHRC's Behavioral Sciences and Epidemiology Department is dedicated to the study of behavioral trends that impact warfighter readiness. The department examines operationally relevant issues affecting personnel such as combat and operational stress, posttraumatic stress, misconduct, substance use, suicide and career-span health and wellness issues. Under this contract, Leidos will conduct behavioral and epidemiological investigations that address these and other deployment-related health issues. Specific examples of these studies may include determining factors related to the onset of mental disorders in military personnel; mental health surveillance of combat-deployed personnel; assessing the effects of adverse lifestyle behaviors on health, performance, and healthcare costs; and investigating the effects of acute stress on military personnel.
