Boeing and Elbit will cooperate in the competition for the next combat aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force. Boeing is offering Brazil its F-18 aircraft, whose cockpit will include Elbit’s installed systems
The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing is attempting to win the competition for supplying Brazil with a new combat aircraft intended for its air force by cooperating with Elbit Systems.
Boeing chose Elbit Systems to provide it with aircraft cockpit systems. A memorandum of understanding between both companies was signed on Monday that states that AEL, Elbit’s subsidiary in Brazil, will participate in the development, production, and support of the systems that will be installed in the new aircraft.
Boeing is offering Brazil an aircraft based on the F-18 fighter, which is currently competing against the Gripen, produced by the Swedish company Saab, and the Rafale, produced by the French company Dassault Aviation.
