For Rugged DSP Cards for use in an airborne long-range infrared sensor system
Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. today announced that it has received a contract from a major defense contractor to provide rugged digital signal processing (DSP) module cards for use in a long-range infrared sensor to be deployed on U.S. Navy fighter jets. The Curtiss-Wright Controls open architecture CHAMP-AV6 DSP OpenVPX™ COTS products will provide computer processing to deliver the real time infrared images acquired by the sensor to determine and classify targets in the combat jet’s field of view. The initial contract for the production phase is valued at $725,000. The potential contract value is $20M over the life of the program. Shipments began in the third quarter of 2012 and continue through 2017.
“We are very proud to have been selected to provide our rugged COTS DSP modules for use in this important airborne defense program,” said David Adams, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. “The CHAMP-AV6 provides robust processing in a Trusted COTS™ platform to ensure protection of critical data.”
