GE has been awarded a three-year, $105 million Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract by the U.S. Navy to provide support for T700 helicopter engines. This is the third T700 PBL with NAVSUP (Naval Supply Systems Command) to support the Navy's T700-401/-401C compressor rotors and GG rotors.

"The PBL concept and the partnership between GE and the Navy have proven to be very successful," said Barry Burke, GE Turboshaft/Turboprop Services Director. "This new deal will allow us to continue to demonstrate top-quality parts availability to ensure T700 engines have optimum performance and readiness."

Two T700 engines comprise the main propulsion and power system for the Navy's H-60 Seahawk, UH-1Y Huey and AH-1W/-1Z Cobra helicopters. Since being introduced eight years ago, T700 PBL agreements with the Navy have greatly enhanced material availability, significantly cut down on backordered requisitions and resulted in a price-reduction to the Navy.

The U.S. Navy-GE Aviation T700 PBL team was awarded the 2007 Secretary of Defense PBL Award for Logistics Excellence in the Component Category.

GE's successful T700/CT7 family of turboprop and turboshaft engines powers 25 types of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft in service with more than 130 customers in more than 50 countries.
