GTIA 5 – L’état-major s’entraîne

Depuis maintenant six semaines, l’état-major du GTIA 5, appuyé et conseillé par les instructeurs de la mission EUTM, s’entraîne à la mise en œuvre des procédures liées à la planification et à la conduite des opérations.

Au sein du poste de commandement, les 8 officiers de l’état-major malien restituent les différentes étapes de l’analyse d’une situation tactique et de l’étude d’une mission pour aboutir à la rédaction des ordres, en prenant en compte tous les aspects qui concourent au succès d’une opération : planification et coordination de la manœuvre, renseignement, soutien logistique, appuis feux, transmissions, etc.

Cet entrainement se poursuit en parallèle de l’instruction dispensée aux unités. Les différents savoir-faire acquis au cours des dix semaines de formation seront restitués dans le cadre d’un exercice synthèse au cours de la troisième semaine d’août.

GTIA 5 – Command staff’s training

The command staff of GTIA 5, supported and advised by the instructors of EUTM Mali, have been training in the procedures required for the successful planning and conducting of operations for the last six weeks.

For the command post, the 8 officers of the GTIA staff have worked through the various stages of understanding a tactical situation, the analysis of a mission, formulating a plan before writing and delivering orders. They have focused on the aspects that will contribute to the success of an operation: intelligence preparation of the environment, the planning and coordination of manoeuvre, fire support, communications, command and control and combat service support.

This training continues in parallel with the instruction given to the sub units. All the collective skills acquired during the ten weeks of training will be applied as part of a final exercise, which will take place in the third week of August.
